In anagramanicure I am interested in how we might re-signify the word revolution by writing its anagrams on fingernails with nail polish. Starting from the Latin origin revolutio, “a turn around” here is associated here with the turning around of letters in a word.

In Cuba, I worked with 4 manicurists and 10 individuals - 10 hands, 100 fingers, 1 finger per letter.

The participant chooses an anagram; it can be in English, Spanish or French.

The anagram is then painted on the fingernails with nail polish and the process is documented with photo and video.

DARE-DARE vous invite à participer au projet anagramanicure de l'artiste Javiera Ovalle Sazie. Cette action consiste à arborer des anagrammes du mot révolution réalisées à l'aide d’une manucure expérimentale. La station de manucure mobile sera installée devant la roulotte de DARE-DARE, les mardis 16 et 23 août 2011 à 16 h.

Chaque anagramme sera choisie par le participant, elle pourra être en français, en espagnol ou en anglais et elle sera peinte avec du vernis sur les ongles des participant.es. Le processus sera documenté avec photo et vidéo. Cette action s'inscrit dans un projet amorcé à Cuba en mai 2011 avec 10 anagrammes du mot révolution.

The mobile manicure station will be installed between DARE-DARE and Saint-Eusèbe-de-Verceil church on Tuesday, August 16th and Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 at 4pm.

Participants will select an anagram in either French, Spanish or English and the manicure process will be documented. anagramanicure is part of an ongoing art project that had its first iteration in Cuba in May 2011

Con el apoyo de Dare-Dare, la acción anagramanicure será realizada por la artista Javiera Ovalle que te invita a escoger anagramas de la palabra “revolution” a través de una manicure experimental. La estación de manicure móvil será instalada entre DARE-DARE y la Iglesia Saint-Eusèbe-de-Verceil, los martes 16 y 23 de Agosto 2011, a las 4 de la tarde.

Cada participante escogerá su anagrama, éste podrá ser en francés, español o en inglés, y será pintado con esmalte en las sus uñas. de los participantes. El proceso será documentado, está acción se inscribe dentro de un proyecto mas más grande que comenzó en Cuba en Mayo 2011 con 10 anagramas de la palabra revolution.
